Position Summary
enFocus is a nonprofit organization that promotes economic development in the South Bend-Elkhart region. We do this by attracting talent to our Fellowship and internship programs and placing them on impactful projects for regional sponsors in the private, public, and social sectors.

As we continue to grow our enFocus Fellowship and internship programs, we are seeking an Operations Manager with strong organizational skills and a passion for innovation and community development to take on a key team role. As Operations Manager, you will report to the Executive Director and the Director of Programs across key functions of the role. This new role will build the organization’s key capacity for financial and operations management across accounting, budgeting, professional development, systems, and information technology.The role is expected to lead 1-2 special projects at one time, while managing recurring operations functions. 

We are looking for an energetic problem-solver who can support the entire team with quality planning and administrative leadership. A successful Operations Manager will help grow our world-class Fellowship and internship experience, while helping to ensure our internal operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and support overall financial management activities including:
    • Budgeting and forecasting 
    • Maintaining key accounting standards
    • Maintaining effective financial controls 
    • Leading reporting functions internally and externally
    • Lead the tax return review and submission process each year
    • Manage expense reimbursement process through vendor systems (Expensify)
  • Oversee impact evaluation and management of key program information:
    • Maintaining up to date information related to projects, talent and retentions
    • Reporting for key annual reports, presentations and other audiences
    • Collecting and synthesizing the outcomes information reported for key granting institutions
    • Developing and managing value and other impact assessments 
  • Assist in the development of strategy and lead implementation of professional development curriculum:
    • Develop and implement Fellow core professional skills development programs
    • Support the coordination of mentoring programs 
    • Assist in the development and implementation of “enFocus University” initiatives
    • Assist in the development and implementation of project manager and Fellow services trainings
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs to support the increased placement of Fellows across organizations in the community
  • Assist the planning and implementation of optimized systems for key business functions at enFocus:
    • Oversee administration for key office systems, including but not limited to GSuite, Quickbooks, Monday.com, and other systems.
    • Act as the point of contact for security, permissions, account management
    • Support investigation and implementation of new systems
    • Coordinate with Program Coordinator on issues related information technology, office equipment, and office design
  • Lead 1-2 internal projects related to improvements of operations management at any one time

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 3-5 years of experience in finance, operations, project management and/or information systems
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial forecasting, and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Knowledge of systems administration concepts related to security, access, and controls
  • Knowledge of methods of organizational learning and development and alignment towards performance standards
  • Organized and detail-oriented with a passion for operational improvement
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while working independently

Job Type
Full-time, permanent position. Salaried, non-exempt.

Location
enFocus staff are expected to be located in the South Bend-Elkhart region to work in-person at enFocus offices in South Bend and Elkhart, Indiana, or Niles, Michigan, and on-site at community sponsors; however, staff will also have the flexibility to work remotely on occasion.
